If the associate believes that it would be inappropriate to discuss the matter with his/her supervisor, it should be reported to the head of the department or to Human Resources. Once made aware of a complaint, Weingarten Realty Investors will launch a thorough investigation of the allegations. The complaint will be kept confidential to the maximum extent possible.
If, at the completion of the investigation, Weingarten Realty Investors determines that an associate is guilty of discriminatory or harassing behavior, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the offending associate. Weingarten Realty Investors expressly prohibits any form of retaliation against any associate for filing a bona fide complaint under this policy, or for assisting in the complaint investigation. If Weingarten Realty Investors determines, after investigating any complaint, that an associate has intentionally provided false information regarding the complaint, disciplinary action may be taken against the associate who provided the false information.
